A Militaristic country ruled over by a dynasty of brutal warlords. The ruling warrior class convene once the previous King dies and hold a tournement of arms between his offspring to determine the new ruler. This usually results in the death of all but one of that generation and in the event of the death of all the previous warlord’s offspring a tournment is held between all willing members of the warrior class to determine the new warlord. It is rare for dynasties to last more than three generations. The nobles of the country are notorious hot headed and have been occasionally known to risk their holdings on the result of personal duels in response to slights against their honor. Cowardice is looked upon as a great shame from which someone can never truly recover and so is being taken prisoner. Defeat is seen as something inevitable, a man is defeated in time by either an enemy, sickness or old age. To be defeated in a battle or conquest and living to fight another day is seen as noble and admirable. To die in battle facing the enemy is veiwed as highly honorable as it is the highest form of courage. The country has a high concentration of orcs, half orcs Dwarves and humans and much smaller concentrations of other races. The current ruler of what has been called the Bloodsoaked throne is a Halforc called Queen Melna Jorgensdottir she is the first of her line and assumed the throne after King Dorne died at the hands of assassins leaving no heirs. So far the country remains relitively stable under her rule.

Folkvanger Wars

The first war known as the Coldfire war was an extremely bloody conflict. Folkvangr brought powerful mages to the battles and despite a good start Estersea repelled the invaders in a series of exceedingly horrific battles. Famine caused by excess rains in the second year caused the war to grind to a halt. A ceasefire was called in the hopes of negotiating a trade agreement however after years of diplomatic attempts The actual borderlines of the country remained under dispute. The second war known as the War of Blood and Snow lasted a full 5 years. Supply issues eventually defeated the Folkvangr forces and the King was forced to redraw the border in the favor of victors. The Estersea nobles for the most part allowed Folkvangr nobles to keep their ranks providing they swear allegience to the king.
